Our scientific capability allows us to develop ingredients with proven efficacy and safety using optimised extraction processes. Our customers are active within functional food, dietary supplements, and nutraceutical markets. Our primary focus is the manufacture and development of novel ingredients targeting four platforms: growth and development (brain, eye, cell), anti-aging (brain, heart, skin, joint, wound healing); womens health and sports performance.

Background
Merinova Ltd was formed in June ’04 as a result of a management buy-out of BioProducts (NZ) Ltd. BioProducts was a subsidiary of AgResearch Ltd (New Zealand’s largest life sciences company) responsible for the development and manufacture of deer velvet extracts. All Merinova shareholders are employees and directors. Merinova is the holding company for two other entities, providing sales and marketing support, business strategy and management, as well as management and funding for research and development. The two subsidiaries are;

	BioProducts (NZ) Ltd Manufacture and development of extracts from deer velvet. Several developments are underway in the area of growth factor concentrates, botanicals www.bioproducts.co.nz
	SeaDragon Marine Oils Ltd  Marine oil refiners and blenders. Developments are underway in the areas of omega-3 concentration, deodourisation, powdered oils, novel anti-inflammatory bioactives www.seadragon.co.nz
